Michael Rose is a versatile Britishpianist and répétiteur, a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama’srépétiteur course, following a First-Class degree in Piano Performance from theRoyal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he studied with Mikhail Kazakevich. Hehas cultivated a deep passion for opera, working extensively as a répétiteur,assistant conductor, and music director across the UK. Operatic creditsinclude Banished, Coraline, Les ArtsFlorissants, Albert Herring (RBC); Dead ManWalking, A Star Next to the Moon, Alcina, Savitri, OperaMakers, (GSMD); Trouble in Tahiti, A Hand of Bridge (CumbriaOpera); The Decision, Woman.life.song, New Year (BirminghamOpera); The Quest (LYO).
Michael also takes interest in the artsong repertoire, having received the 2022 Edwards Brooks English SongAccompanist Prize and having performed in lunchtime song recitals at the RoyalOpera House, St Martin in the Fields and Lamport Hall. Alongside this, he hasperformed in an recital as part of the Oxford Lieder 2022 festival whilst alsoparticipating as a Young Artist within the
Leeds Lieder 2022 festival, bothengagements alongside Hannah Morley. Here, he performed in the Howard AssemblyRoom and in masterclasses led by Joan Rodgers and Amanda Roocroft. Michaelenjoys participating in a variety of musical projects and areas but finds aunique feeling of fulfilment teaching students of all ages, enthusiastic toshare his passion and love for music which he does primarily at Greenwich MusicSchool.
