Welcome to the syllabus for the 2024 festival - as the new chairman, I’m very excited for it to be released and get entries for another fabulous year of music.
We are so proud to be a festival which supports and inspires amateur musicians. People from all over the country come to Leamington to gather with friends and family and share their passion for music. Our mission is to provide a platform where performers can thrive and gain experience from expert adjudicators, as well as bringing local music lovers together as an audience for the musicians of tomorrow. Audience is always welcome in any of the sections so please do spread the word and join us!
We have a fantastic array of classes including some new ones. There is a new recital class for the organ section and two returning under 16s classes in the piano section as well as two returning open age category classes. The harp section is offering a 30 minute improvisation section to which harpists of any standard are welcome. In the Speech and Drama section there are three new Speaking Skills classes for younger children.
As always, I am supported by the brilliant section secretaries who give their time and work tirelessly for free to make sure you get a professional and enjoyable festival. Thank you also to my predecessor, Laurie, for having kept us all organised the past few years and supporting me as I take over. Laurie is still with us in the role of treasurer, though we are looking for someone to take that over too - do get in touch if you’d like to join our motley crew!
I hope everyone has a happy festival and I can’t wait to watch!
